Field Trip: Berkeley Rose Garden

This Spring it seems as though all of the roses in Berkeley bloomed at the same time. Going for a walk in my neighborhood was suddenly incredibly fragrant with all sizes and colors of rosebuds blossoming in yards, winding along fences, and spilling across the sidewalk. There aren't enough hours in a day to stop and smell each one.

Inspired by the sight around me, I took myself on a field trip to the Berkeley Rose Garden and was not disappointed. I couldn't help but take a few photos to share.

Here's a short article about Frances Hodgson Burnett, author of the classic children's book, The Secret Garden.

Also, I'm currently reading this book about the history of women and gardens.
