FIELD TRIP: Botanical Garden
I spend a lot of time in front of my computer. It’s a necessary part of the process: designing things to print, seeking inspiration, selecting vendors, and ordering materials. Field trips are also a great source of inspiration for me. I can probably recall every field trip of my childhood.
Living in Berkeley, there are so many beautiful things to see. One of my favorites is the UC Berkeley Botanical Garden. We spend hours there, in awe of the variety and variation. I’m not much of a photographer, but I do love to shoot with my vintage 35mm. I just had the roll developed last week, and these three are among my top favorites.
I like the anticipation that shooting film gives, it’s the slowness that keeps me going, I think. Maybe that’s part of the charm? Although, it’s not so charming when the photos I am most excited about don’t turn out at all… so I won’t put you through the agony!
